Enjoy some writing inspired by our garden.

The flower was beautiful.

I saw the sunflower say hi to me.

Lakai

At morning tea I said to the sunflower, “Stop looking at the children!" But it didn’t listen.

I saw tomatoes at my school and they were yummy.

Look what we found next!

We didn't even plant sunflowers in our garden!  Maybe someone popped in a cheery surprise.

More eating of the food we have grown ourselves!

Wow! Plant a little seed, care for it and look what you get!  Food to eat you have grown yourself.
The children in The Landing thought their beans were very tasty - and so did the teachers!

River of Flowers

As part of Christchurch's River of Flowers - Te Waitohi Maumahara - the children in The Landing (Rooms 9 and 10) made these beautiful paper flowers to contribute to the school's river of flowers on the front fence. The flowers the young learners in
The Landing made were to thank all the hardworking people for the building and fixing they are doing.

Fun Flower Day!

It was a fun day and lots of people helped us!
We enjoyed making our sand saucers and vegetable creations on Fun Flower Day.
Lots of parents and family came and helped us - and we really showed our HEART value of Togetherness.
It was great to visit all the rooms afterwards to see the flowers on display.

Working together is great.

A completed sand saucer and a vegetable creation about to be made.

We grew our own food!

At the end of last year we planted in the lovely boxed vege garden Bunnings kindly donated to us.
Over summer, with a little bit of rain and a little bit of watering, our plants grew and g-r-e-w and G-R-E-W!!  On Friday we enjoyed lettuce sandwiches.  Yum!!  And there are still tomatoes and pumpkins to come.  Growing your own food is wonderful!
